First Baptist Church Center Star is a body of believers united by our desire to follow Jesus Christ and committed to fulfilling the purposes God has given each believer. We are looking for people who are ready to take up the mission of God with us!

We accept members in these three ways:
• Profession of Faith - If you have never received Jesus as Savior and Lord and/or never publicly confessed Him, you will be given an opportunity to do so. After your decision has been confirmed, an appointment will be made for your baptism at FBCCS.
• Transfer of membership from another Southern Baptist Church - If you are currently a member of another
Southern Baptist Church, we will receive you as a member upon promise of a letter from that church. FBCCS will contact that church to notify them of your decision and request your letter.
• Statement of faith - If you know in your heart that you have previously experienced salvation by receiving Jesus as Savior and Lord, we will be happy to receive you. However, it will be necessary for you to be baptized at FBCCS if you have never been baptized by immersion after your salvation experience or if you were baptized in a church which holds a different view of salvation or baptism than FBCCS All those who desire to become a member at FBCCS must first go through our new members class. This one-time class is held every other month. In it, we discuss our doctrinal beliefs, and what it means to be a member of a church. Following the completion of the class, those who desire to join are presented to the church as new members.
First Baptist Church Center Star is a member of the Colbert/Lauderdale Baptist Association, the Alabama Baptist Convention, and the Southern Baptist Convention. We hold to the Southern Baptist Convention's common statement of faith – the Baptist Faith and Message. It was approved by the convention in 2000. You can read it here.
